CHIRP has been involved in a number of projects in Nevada Country as a principal, partner, or
consultant (see below). Our latest project was the 10th anniversary
Nisenan Heritage Day.

Past projects and Accomplishments
Received a grant from the Nevada County Library and California state library to create
and install a Nisenan Collection, territorial map, and digital kiosk at the Foley Library.
Participated in the creation of interpretive signage for the Deer Creek Tribute Trail.
Participated in the building of the Deer Creek Tribute Trail and the Nisenan Suspension Bridge.
Consulted with Sierra Streams Institute in the creation of the Nisenan Gathering Garden.
Consulted with South Yuba Citizens League in the installation of interpretive signage at Gold Field and Looney Meadow.
Produced, with Sierra College, the annual Nisenan Heritage Day event.
Directed restoration work for the Nisenan exhibit at the Nevada County Historical Society’s Firehouse No.1 Museum.
Partnered with Filmsight Productions, Nevada City Rancheria, and Sierra Streams Institute
in the production of a short film
about effects of the Gold Rush on the land and people of Nevada County, funded by a Cal Humanities grant.
