Tribal Arts Enrichment
Tribal Arts Enrichment, facilitated by CHIRP, offers Nevada City Rancheria Nisenan Tribal members opportunities for creative expression, Cultural revitalization, and personal growth through art workshops and enriching educational activities. Rooted in community connection and creative expression, the project fosters revitalization and celebration of Nisenan Culture through hands-on artistic experiences.
‘Uba Seo
‘Uba Seo: Nisenan Culture & Art is CHIRP’s brick-and-mortar space in downtown Nevada City gallery exhibits, art, and a custom theater. It acts as a Cultural center that brings visibility to the Nevada City Rancheria Nisenan Tribe in their Ancestral Homelands through immersive, educational, and thought-provoking art. It has serves as a collaborative and accessible space for advocacy, healing, and Cultural revitalization, fostering community dialogue and honoring Indigenous history through Nisenan voices.
‘Uba Seo: Annex
’Uba Seo: Annex is an extension of ’Uba Seo: Nisenan Culture and Arts housed at 205 York Street in Nevada City. This new space features a stunning showcase of handmade jewelry by Tribal members, original artwork by local artists, and decades of donated artwork. All artworks are for purchase and support CHIRP’s mission to preserve, protect, perpetuate Nisenan Culture
